The Cove

We had the priviledge to visit The Cove this past week. Darlene Zschech was the conference leader. She and the Hillsong praise team were there singing and teaching. Darlene is best known for the praise song "Shout to the Lord". She said she just sang it at church and it grew legs and feet and went all over the world. We were so impressed with her humility. She is a wonderful singer but an even better teacher. It was an experience I will not forget. I am still trying to process all the things God revealed to me while I was away.

The Graham's opened up The Cove to be a place for tired, busy people to get away from the world and be able to study, pray, rest and be restored. There are no TV's or internet. Just the sounds of the forest creatures. This year the Ciacada's had hatched. Sounded like a space ship was hovering over us during the day but all was quiet by night. They are interesting creatures. We had the chance to see a very large male turkey wondering around in the woods followed later by a female with about 10ish little ones.

The staff pray for each person by name before they arrive. They are there to meet your every need. They came out as soon as we drove up and started helping us get unloaded. The lodge is very comfortable. Sort of feels like sleeping in a tree house. The food is excellent. You will see a picture of the Dining Room in the pictures. Beautiful. Joel's favorite is the eternal frozen yogurt machine. Not sure how many cones he ate.

We met many new people and ran into several who knew someone we knew. It really is a small world. I know heaven is going to be so much better than anything on earth but The Cove is the only place I know that has a hint of what heaven may feel like.
